Today and tomorrow in mako-ville
22 October, we again overrun Clementina's
restaurant at La Poma. Our group last night was a record for us, 22 people at the dinner table. We had custom made brats, and steak tacos. WOW what a spread. A meal most of us will remember for a while. Clementina had to bring on extra help for prep, serving and clean up. There is also about 15 mexican fishermen in camp so the kitchen is sizzling. Great time of year for the restaurant. The desert is GREEN here, I can sea the grass growing on the island. Driving the road into camp a couple of places look like a putting green. Spring could have sprung if I did not know it was almost November. Dinner for tonight is being kept a secret, however I thind I taste pork in the air. Time will tell. As to the fishing I am hereing rumors of a lost roosterfish estimated by Dave Sivak at over 50 pounds. Orange mouth corvina, sierra, bass, cabrilla, roosterfish, barred pargo, baracuda, jacks and others have been caught. And now there will be a menu change for tomorrow night. A panga dive crew just delivered fresh scallops and conch to us no the beach, he remembered us from last year. maybe 10 pounds of conch and 3 pounds of scallops for 700 pesos. What's for dinner at your house????

Spiny lobster soup provided by me and whatever my sister-in-law makes.
It is always delicious. Would love to see some pictures of the fish caught. |
