Quick bare bones day out from about 9:30 to 12:30. No fish finder so not sure of water temp but felt about 68. Very clear from kelp line out, green inside kelp turning blue further west. No action trolling a rapala for bonito outside the kelp (honestly not even sure that would work). Calicos were all over hookups but all pretty small. Everyone was hanging under the kelp, I am guessing because the water was so clear and sun blazing. Lots surface action in one spot at the inner edge of kelp off windansea. Watched barracuda and yellows chasing the macs around. I couldnt get them on an iron so quickly picked up two smallish macs for flyline. Actually watched a medium sized yellow sizing him up and striking, super cool! He ran with it but dropped it when it hung up on kelp. Already late to get home so once my boner went away, packed up and headed in.
Anyway no pics but hope it helps someone this weekend. Good luck. |
