that's the coolest innovation I've seen for wire connections. My only concern is how strong the connection is, can it be easily pulled apart?

Those things have been around forever - we used them when I was working at Convair back in the late 80's. I have a couple of handfulls of them in a drawer, and they do work. Only caviat being is you need a heat gun that is capable of 800 degrees...

They look good. For me soldering is really easy, as it using a heat gun on marine grade shrink tubing so I will probably stick with that but for non DIYers these are great.
