Lake Perris 6/8
Went to give Perris another shot today. Paddled over to the island from the boat ramp but nothing was happening there. So we paddled over to lot 12 to work the brush line. The lake is still down about 15 feet but there are trees flooded now that were exposed last year. Laura started picking up some bluegill in one area so we worked it with drifts. Mealworms and crickets were the trick today. I got a personal best bluegill and a 16" spotted bass plus a few smaller bluegill. All in all a good day at Perris. The wind started coming up and it is a long paddle back to the boat ramp but we were off the water by 2:30. I forgot my hat today and I think I baked my brains but I didn't endanger anything important.

Nice Harry! I gotta join you one day. BTW, what’s with that LMBs underbite?

we do need to fish together someday. That is a kentucky spotted bass. First one I've caught that was keepable. I didn't even notice the underbite. I had to look at the picture to see what you were asking me about. Maybe I lipped him to hard. He took a cricket from the bluegill hole, fun to catch. I made some changes to my kayak trailer and yesterday was the shake down trip, It worked good.
