Lobster Report Cards
The 2017-18 Lobster season is over....
PLEASE TURN IN YOUR LOBSTER REPORT CARDS BEFORE APRIL 30TH The report card is the best recreational data we have to defend your fishing rights...as the number of returned cards goes up...the percentage of our recreational take "guesse-timated" by the Department goes down This fact was stated by the head of the DFW at the last Fred Hall show at a panel meeting. It will be interesting to see the number of lobsters taken and the money earned by the commercial trappers with this first year of only 300 traps per commercial license. On-line return is the easiest and it allows you to keep your card as a record. https://www.wildlife.ca.gov/Licensin...vest-reporting

JUst submitted mine. The best thing I caught all Lobster season was the Leopard shark in my avatar. Was on opening night at the San Clemente Pier. I'm guessing the mass of bait in the water had all the Leos and Bat rays coming in to check it out. I did get an octopus in one trap. The wife was pissed I didn't grab it and try to keep it. I've seen too many cartoons, to try to pick up an octopus. I was imagining that thing stuck to my face. Nope let it crawl back home, untouched. It just poured itself right thru the holes in the net.

A tip.
Make a note of the information on the card. Perhaps a copy when you first get it. I lost my first one and now have to see if the F&W has it. To complete the computer form, I need some numbers from the card. P.S. I called and a nice lady took care of it. She even gave me a confirmation number.
