Baja Sur Trip Thanksgiving
Weather: Perfect! 75-80 degrees. Mild wind the whole week
Water Temp: 70-74 Fishing Asuncion: Calico fishing was slower this time around. Still managed a 5 and 6-pound bass. Guys went offshore and landed a 25lb YT. I know it picked up for them after we left for Abreojos Fishing Abreojos: Good to excellent on Grouper, Snook, Corvina, and Bay Bass. I brought my bait tank this time and loaded up with finger mullet. It was simply awesome to pitch a live mullet into the mangroves and watch Grouper, Mangrove Snapper, and Snook crush them. Fish were literally flying completely out of the water while trying to inhale the panicked mullet on the surface... I went 1 for 3 on the Snook. After living in Florida for two years, Snook is my absolute favorite fish to catch. Baja Snook This is the fish that started my Snook obsession! West Palm Beach, FL - 30lb Spillway Snookzilla . Con Kso in Baja bliss Until next year Baja!

Cool report Roger and thanks for the photo - was definitely a great trip. Thanks to Rossman for being such a gracious host - if you're reading this, Rossman, I just received your outboard parts and will bring them to you in a couple of weeks.
Hope we can do something like this again, it was a great time. |

I will add that all of these species caught, except the wahoo were caught within 1.5 miles of the launch.
