Brothers on SD Bay October 28th
Hello Fishing Family. FishingMike and I got out on the SD Bay this morning. Was a fairly warm morning launching from the Shelter Island Yacht Basin. Overcast morning with no breeze. Saw a couple other yakers heading out. One looked like he had a sail system. Water was cool but not cold. Tide was high when we got out on the water.
FishingMike went to work the area off of the Shelter Island Fishing Pier and I started at the shoal/lower range marker. One bite on my croc on the troll out but no luck. Caught a couple sandies at the lower range marker then went to join Fishing Mike. Caught a mack on my croc making my way to the pier. Caught a couple sandies and a spottie south of the pier close to the anchorage. Water was like glass and no breeze (until 1030). Made my way back to the perimeter of the lower range marker. The spotties were really good to me. Also caught a 16 inch Hali which hit hard. Rootbeer 3 inch and ghost shrimp 4 inch worked best. Final Count: FishingMike - 13 sandies, 3 spotties, 1 hali, 1 mantas shrimp, 1 sculpin. Bubbacee7 - 19 spotties, 2 sandies, 1 hali, 1 mack |
