Depression in PARADISE???

New post on Mako-ville

Depression after Paradise
by glenlivinit
I found my self adapting quickly to the simplicity of Makoville.

No cell phone, no tv, no internet, Just time to commune with nature, connect with friends, and eat good food.

I had little thought of work, bills, or traffic. Each day seemed to blend with the last.....

And then , Back to the "civilized world" The first thing to hit you is the traffic at the border going home, you realize paradise is slipping behind you...

Home late, you get a great sleep after not being in your bed for a week, but that soon ends as the morning rush is on, back to the rat race you go, and you hold the memory of Makoville tight, assuring yourself it was not a dream, and you feel a little sad inside because life should be more like Makoville, and less about what everyone else is grabbing for.

So , you do what you have to, but priorities are a little different now. I will choose to work to live, not live to work, make time for yourself and friends. Strip the complexities of our cyber world as often as you can, and just do it !

So I count the day's till I can breath Baja again....

Don't suffocate Bob. you still have a week!

this is a great subject to touch on.

a pure disconnect is pretty essential to counteract my fast paced life. work 6-7 a week. kids are back in school and the seasons start to switch. my stress disappears at the san felipe checkpoint and doesn't return until i can't make the first left into the mexicali border line.

can't wait to see you guys again. bringing two more that are hooked on the baja life. if you see miguel tell him wed love him to take us out one or two days.

It’s actually very interesting to hear these kinds of stories. Great that you could take such actions and be happy with the result. I am not sure I could do it. I have to many things that hold me in the place I currently live. But I’m not going to lie, sometimes I do feel like leaving everything and moving away. After some sessions with my therapist, I was diagnosed with ptsd. I wanted to take care of this issue on my own, so started to look up information on how to overcome ptsd. The internet came at hand in my case, as I found a great platform that deals with mental health issues and other personality disorders.
