Side imaging
The outback was made for lowrance. I.E. lowrance ready. There are not many kayaks on the market that can run side imagining without any modifications , but you are in luck because the hobbies are on the list. You are gonna need the upgraded transducer plate to accommodate the side imaging transducer. Either a hobie or after market. The plate is gonna run around 50$. On top of that you are gonna need the total scan transducer plus a unit that can handle it. I believe hds 3. Current bundle price is 1000$. Somebody ran a post recenlty asking for reviews if anybody had done it. I did not see any replies. One thing is for sure. If you get the hds 3 and run it with just a standard transducer , you will not regret it. There are a few top dogs here that are doing so already. You are not gonna find a unit under a couple grand that has more point to point power.
