34lb Yellow
Went out at my normal spot in north county made bait instantly, put my sabiki back in the water and hooked a rat yellow maybe 18", after that I hooked one of the small bonita I caught on a dropper loop and got hooked into this del mar resident. It towed me halfway out to sea I thought it was a shark for sure very pleasantly surprised to see that silver belly and yellow tail coming up. Time was 7pm tide was raising to a 6.2 high tide at 9:30pm wind was 2 knots, great day on the water.

Nice. I was in that area in the morning. 8 Calicos, the last 18 inches. Had some baitfish ( or something) breaking the surface but nothing was interested in neither my crocodile nor surface iron.

So cool Hobie, Im going out tomorrow. I was thinking of LJ, but after seeing your local success, I will most likely try Solana Beach if the surf isn't too bad. Can't wait to see the video. Congrats.

You mean there's yellowtail in the kelp?! Haha jk, very nice fish. Love those local yellers, 150% more rewarding than a LJ yellowtail.

Congrats on a really nice Yellow HobieOneC. They are almost everywhere, they just don't always want every bait presented to them. Just have to be "at the right place at the right time", that only happens by putting time out on the water not just watching the fishing report post. Congrats!
