Transducer??????????
Which one fits our needs better for local ocean fishing in a kayak, the 83/200 or 50/200. Im going to be getting a new one for Outback and wanted to get everyone's opinion.
I currently have an old school Lowerance 68mc and the transducer im assuming is a 83/200. |

The 50/200 throws a tighter cone so they are generally recommended for 100+ ft of water, for the guys fishing salt. The 83 has a wide cone range for the shallow guys. I'm on my 3rd FF and 1st 50/200 ducer and can't really tell the difference. If your going to get the 50/200 be aware they are significantly larger in size. Something to consider depending on how you intend to mount it.
