headed out tomorrow @ LJ
Hey, first post here. I met a guy on the water last time I was out who told me about this site. Avid fisherman but I have just started kayak fishing a couple years ago to change things up from the boat and save money on fuel. Ive caught a few Yellows off it already slow trolling macs and surface irons. launching in the dark in the morning always seemed like a stupid idea to me even though ive done it a few times. Ill be headed out tomorrow to go see if I can put some hamachi on the table for the east coast family while they are in town for grandmas 80th. So if anyone is headed out, I think Im going to try and launch at around 6/6:30am. Ill be bringing a dropper loop set up and a few irons plus my sabiki rod. How was the launch today?

It's mellow. Put on your splash jacket and charge it like a fiend. You'll be fine. |

The launch was pretty mellow, but there were some bigger sets mixed in.
Walk out with your kayak unto waist deep water and observe the swell patterns. Then, when you see a window charge it like a feign. Keep your kayak perpendicular to the wave and maintain your forward motion. A light paddle jacket is money well spent. http://www.kayakfishingsupplies.com/...-paddle-jacket Good luck!
