Vacumn sealers...?

For you guys on here that seem to do very well, what are your recommendations for a top quality vacuum sealer?

I have a Foodsaver I got at Costco that I like quite a bit. I haven't ever had to vac any large quantities, so I don't how it will hold up to all that. I can tell you that my vac-sealed fish hold up a lot better in the freezer than my formally bagged ones.

Chamber sealers like the Vacmaster aren't cheap, I paid over $600 for mine. However, the quality of the seal and the price per bag is well worth the investment.

x2 on the cost and quality, I have a Vacmaster 210 and bags bought on fleabay. does a great job over my old foodsaver/seal-a-meal. Great for soups and sous vide cooking I make a lot of jerky and does great. I have punctured a couple of the bags with shell on shrimp, so you may need to get the thick mm bags.

I used a foodsaver to bag a half of a beef, 275lbs packaged and it never hiccuped.

I have purchased 4 Foodsavers and will never buy another. Vacmaster all the way. Much better Vacuum, seal and bags. And it does not overheat after 6 or 8 seals. If you plan on sealing a good bit of fish or game it is worth every penny.

I got mine from Costco as well. It works very well.
I use it a lot. Even vacuum pack bonito too keep it fresh for the lobster season.

My girlfriend's mom gave us a Foodsaver she got from Costco. I love it. I froze well over 100 pounds of fish last summer and the meat stays in perfect condition. I also use it for game meat. I still have like 20 doves left. I froze them in a 'party bag' though, so all 20 are in one bag. I need to have a bbq so I can cook them all...

The only problem I have had with it is having trouble getting the wide bags it comes with to work. It seems like it doesn't suck the air out with the wide bags, but works fine with the narrow (long version) bags. Can anyone shed some light on this?

They make a gamesaver with a lifetime warranty. Mine has never had a problem overheating or loosing suction yet, but if it ever does, I have a lifetime replacement.
