First yellowtail - DP
After 5 months of unsuccessfully stalking yellowtail from my yak, I broke down and took a charter to learn some tricks of the trade. Jimmy Decker didn't disappoint. I caught this one in about forty ft. of water slow trolling a flylined greenie, just south of San Clemente. I'm 6'2" and weigh 230 lbs. Jimmy didn't have a measuring tape or a scale. Any guesses on length and weight?
Now I'll be hitting the water again in my yak with more confidence! |

Jimmy Decker is a class act, I see him all the time outside Newport or at Dana I saw him the day me and Yanni got our YFT and had to let him know at the dock, he was genuinely stoked for us.

Jimmy is really nice guy. I have talked to him a few times, he is always willing to give advice.
