VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AUGUST HOW

We need more volunteers to sign up for the 22AUG15 event at Tidelands in Coronado. Listen guys this isn't a club hang out, NOR is it community service. Its a great time, a free meal, and you can feel good about helping a vet get out on the water and enjoy the passion we all share. See you there.

Yea. What he said. Besides, if you don't show up. We will give your lunch away and you will have to just mow the lawn and clean the windows.

JAY,

I might be coming in hot from an "early" trip but I'm in. This event will allow me to kill (4) birds with one stone...

1) Allow me to give thanks to any of the participating and volunteering veterans...
2) Drop off (20#'s of WSB and Butt filet) to HOW
3) Finally get my ice chest back from HOW!
4) Show my WSB pictures to CBad Mike so he can see what this fish actually looks like...

I would love to give something back to our hero's...I work on Friday and Sat (21 & 22). Is there something I could help out with prior to the event?

I was really trying to make this one but with Being OnCall at work and issues with the family I'm not going to make it.

Signed up the other day, because I finally have my kayak.
Not familiar with fishing in MB, but I want to help out and get out on the water, is there a way I could hang out and "shadow" a more experienced member or something? I just don't want to be out giving bad info to people

Hey GKT. Always glad to have new blood and we will be glad to show you the ropes. Just want to let you know that we are not at mission bay this month. We will be at Tidelands which is located just over the Coronado bay bridge. It is the 1st right after passing the old toll booths. Go to the stop sign and turn right. Follow the road all the way into the park and we will be as close to the bridge as you can park. You will see our trl. and a lot of other vehicles sporting yaks on the roof. See you there. Mike

Hey everyone,
Tomorrow is really looking like it's going to be another great event.
I see that we will have some new faces signed up to help along with our usual volunteer staff.
The schedule for the event is as follows.

6:00am - volunteers arrive
6:15am - trailers begin getting unloaded and set up on the beach
7:20am - mandatory volunteer meeting
7:30am - guests arrive and begin check in
8:00am - meeting on the beach with guests and volunteers
8:15am - all kayaks on the water
12:00 pm - all kayaks back on the beach and lunch ready to serve

Immediately following lunch food items, tables and grills can start to be broken down which will be around 1:30 or sooner.
Kayaks can start being broken down and moved to the trailers any time after arriving back on the beach.

2:30 management team meeting

Vhf radios played a big part in the overall safety of our event last month and I ask that if you have one to please bring it with you.

If you have any last minute questions please post them. I will be checking this thread periodically tonight.

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow and as always.....
Thanks for all of your help and support.

Thanks Mike. Dunno why I typed MB, I knew it was at Tidelands. Thanks for the heads up though. I saw you guys last at the HOW MB tournament in April, (I was down there shooting photos.) Glad I can finally get down and get out on the water. Looking forward to meeting some new people and helping out where I can.
