Advice for a newbie?

Hi Team,

The wife bought me a Pro Angler 12 for my bday. I've fished Newport Bay a few times with good success. Yesterday I decided to take her out near Malibu pier and had a few bites during an afternoon of fishing. Not too keen on going miles out just yet so wondering what are some good alternatives for close in shore fishing near the L.A area? Mainly on the hunt for Halibut. Thanks!!!

Go to Cabrillo Beach, easy parking, launching, calm water, easy access to bait and close proximity to fish.

Just watch out for boat traffic as they can throw out pretty big wakes and can come out of any direction at any time, so pay attention.

You have any questions get a hold of this guy! (cell128) Jaime

Thanks for the replies! Are we talking about fishing inside the harbor? Or launching on the outside?

Some really useful information in those two quotes. Hi-May (cell128) is really good at slaying butt.
