San Diego Bay 7/31/15
Ending up fishing the bay from noon until about 5pm. Bait barge only had very large sardines and mackerel. Fished a dropper loop with 5oz weight to hold bottom. Landed one short halibut and lost one legal when gaffing as it cut the line.
Spend most of the time dodging boat wakes and fighting the strong wind and current on a large tidal swing on the south side of the bay opposite Shelter Island. I caught this fish and was unable to identify it. It had a full row of small teeth on the bottom and a couple of longer short teeth on the top. It was about 24 inches long. |
