Good fishing near San Pedro

Just bought my first kayak! Anyone have any advice on some good areas to fish/techniques?

I live near San Pedro/Long Beach area! Have read some good stuff about Cabrillo Beach, any other spots?

Thanks everyone!

There is a kayaker on here that goes under the user name cell128, he's got the entire cabrillo area dialed in. Some of his clients have posted pics of their butts, the fish are absolute beauties and most of the clients are super stoked after fishing with him.

Send him a PM

Cell128 is the man! Be sure to reference my name when you message him. I might get a discount next time I fish with him.

Good fishing near San Pedro

Just to get you started you can fish any of the breakwalls for bass. I always use a light/dark green AA Curly tail on a 3/8ths oz lead head

That set up kills it in the bay's and breakwalls for spotties

You won't catch a lot of keepers on that set up since they changed the regs to require bass to be 14 inches nowadays. But you will get a lot of action!

Don't ask me why but that light/dark green curly tail just gets the spotted bay bass biting even when nothing else will.

cabrillo is a great place to learn and catch fish... make sure you have the basic safety gear and watch out for the boat traffic.

I second the watch out for boat traffic

I've seen some weekend warriors types do some stupid things there
