Large Hammerhead Cruising La Jolla
Had a cool encounter with a large hammerhead, approx 10 footer, right on the edge of the bed last weekend. He came very close on the first pass, then i got the vid on the second pass. He was very curious and hung around us for about an hour.
You cant really blame him for sniffing me out, as i had just bled out a nice 25# yellow not 5 minutes earlier. Also heard a rumor of a tiger shark in LJ. Keep your legs in the boat, i guess(; |

Awesome! Haven't seen a hammerhead in LJ since the 70's when I was a kid. You know El Nino is here when you start seeing these species of sharks...

I know that I have 65 lbs braid. 50 bucks for 500 yds. Buts seriously my bad ass military side will be hard to hold back getting the beast close to the boat so that I can leap on to it's back and sink a large dive knife into it's spine!

Same experience in la jolla last summer . 10 foot at back and side of yak for 45 minutes while I had a YT in my lap. Beats a GW (had last summer) and a tiger
