Wed report.....

After such good luck on Monday, I took my two sons and a buddy out on a power boat. Long story short..... still very good.

We caught five YT and 3 legal ling cod..... lings for dinner tonight! And YT sushi appetizers.

It seemed slow for a long time, but we saw a guy here and there hooked up. My youngest son then hooked up on a surface iron, and as soon as it was gaffed, three reels started screaming, and my two boys and I had a triple hookup. Very cool feeling! We all landed them. The last fish of the trip, my neighbor gets a 25 pounder.

Bait everywhere, and you won't believe this, I know I wouldn't, but a bunch of us all saw JUMPING BLUEFIN (or Yelowfin, but definitely tuna) right off the kelp! We, and a couple other boats, and kayaks made a beeline to them, not too close to scare off, and then they disappeared. We were all looking at each other saying, "did you see what we just saw?".

Anyway, freezer full, time to take a break..... but go if you can. My buddy caught two today on yak.
No photos as the phone/cam died, but you know the look.

Nice!

Any chance the "tuna" could have been bonito? Saw a school tuna thrashing bait last year; or at least thought they were tuna until we all hooked up and landed some of the biggest bones we'd ever seen.
