Broke in the new kayak ...

I picked up Flemdoggs 2014 Revo last weekend and took a break from running my dads skiff and got out to finally break her in now that she is all set up right.

Tons of bait, although the pesky bones destroyed my sabiki early. Shit. Somehow made a mac or two during the day trolling a rapala and using the one hook left on my sabiki. Note to self: bring more sabiki rigs. Got picked up early on the troll, then landed two dinks on the surface iron and then got another decent one on a monster mac. Also, as a side note my leader snapped on the first fish so I had to run straight braid all day, seemed to work just fine!

Went 4-7 and released all fish ... per my superstition I released the first one since it was the first on the new kayak, but damn I love watching them swim away so I released the rest. Or maybe I'm too lazy to clean them ....

It was good meeting you out on the water while we all had problems making bait. I had the same problem with those bonitos breaking off all the hooks on my sabikis. Made one of those sabiki rods that Caseym posted and it worked great but i need a better more powerfull reel for it. The small 1000 reel I had spare, couldn't handle the larger macs or the bonitos. All the jumping bait was wild. It was still going on, even after 4pm when I came in. I love your short video and great ending with the underwater shot.

At the landing with the Mustad digital scale, it was 24.6lbs. I guess before bleeding it out and all the waste it left me inside my X Factor, it provably was a little over 25lbs. Great fish on ice right now. i will filet it out tomorrow and get to break in my Bubba Blade I got a few weeks ago for my birthday. Great work on the release of the fish. See you out there again. Tuna-ing sucked today on my dads boat.
Got a baby Mako and saw some yellows, broke a bunch off.
