Mission Beach Mothership Halibut Hunt- SATURDAY?
Hey Guys,
Any interest in a mothership trip on Saturday to hunt for halibut? I have a 44' sportfisher and I can haul about 5 kayaks on board, 3 on the bow and two more on the stern. My bait system can hold at least 3 full scoops. I thought this would be a cool way for me to learn more about local halibut fishing. If anyone is interested we could load the kayaks on Friday night. You would need to launch at Dana Landing then paddle over to my slip or it might be possible to carry a smaller Yak directly down. Then come back the next morning and we would head out, pick up bait and then find a spot maybe around 50-60 ft deep to anchor. A friend might drive my Zodiac out too. My boat is a wide heavy beast. Plenty of room. My name over on BD is cattledog. There is a picture of the boat in my profile if you want to see it. We would all need to split the cost of bait. I'll cover fuel which would be minimal. Chris |

Thats a super generous offer. A mothership though is ordinarily to someplace one cant paddle. That MB zone is right out front, well w/in paddle/pedal range.

Setup some trips to San Clemente Island or Catalina and I'm sure you'll get some interest.

I have fished on his boat a few times.
Chris is a good captain, just looking for some halibut help. If I didn't have family plans, I would be in. Take advantage of his generosity, Chris is a great guy. Go get a flattie... |
