Kayak Fishing Pants
I don't like to use waders at all so I like to use kayak fishing pants instead.
I have been using Helly Hatton but the model that I have has not held up well at all. What kayak fishing pants do you like to use? Gore Tex? I am thinking maybe gore tex might be better especially in the heat since they breathe? |

I really like the north face pants -- the ones that have the zippers above the knees so you can remove the legs if you're so inclined. They don't hold water, dry very fast and are cool enough to wear all day in the sun. REI always has them in stock. There seems to be two different styles. One is more of a soft/cottony feel and I'm not crazy about that model. The other is made out of a more stiff/rip-proof material and that's the one I'm referring to.

Check out Bomber Gear kayak pants. Multi layer waterproof fabric, with DWR coating, neoprene ankles and very high waist. Galasport USA also has some decent waterproof pants with ankle seals.

Kokatat Tempest pants with feet/socks or whatever you call it - had them for a couple years now - rinse off after each use. Velcro waist makes it easy to take care of business.

When it's a bit windy and overcast, that just wearing a bathing suit is too cold, then I use my NRS Endurance paddling pants that I got from OEX for $99.95. They are rugged, and have rubber and velcro adjustable seals at the waist and ankles. They work great and can roll up into a small size for storage when not in use.
