Elite 4 help
Took my yak out today for the first time using my fish finder. I couldn't get the fish finder to work th whole morning. I Velcro'd my transducer in. The Velcro is the only thing I can think of.
What do you guys think? Is it the Velcro? |

You can't have any air below the xd. Try duct seal -- it's 2.98 at Home Depot. It's like modeling clay, but a little sticky and waterproof. Just lay some down inside your kayak and press the xd firmly into it. Add some more duct seal around the xd to hold it in place and your ready to go. Takes about two minutes and is a lot easier and faster than Goop with no worries about bubbles.

Really flatten it out so that there is about a 1/4 of an inch of putty to the sides, front, and back of the transducer. In the video below below you will see a sponge ring and some water in the sponge, you don't need that. Just smoosh out the putty as flat as you can, and you want it about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. This will hold your transducer in place, and you'll get excellent readings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3u1d3_UeD3k
