40 Revision 3

This is my third 40lb Halibut since August of 2013. I can't begin to share the stokeness that I felt when I saw this butt coming up to color. Oddly, I still have not caught a butt in the 30lb class, I have a 29.10lb and two that were just a few ounces above the 40lb mark, this one being one of them. Anyway, my dream is to break the 50lb mark before I catch that 30lb butt.

Video is nothing fancy, just some music and me catching a fish

Jorge you made it look easy. Just kicking back relaxing, then suddenly "OH I have a fish to reel in". See you Saturday at Mission Bay.

Nice fish Jorge!
Is it just me, I saw the head bobbing and couldn't tell or were you about to "nod off" a couple times (or just that relaxed!)?

What happened ?

To the scene where you were pounding on him ? I guess you did not want us to see your evil side . 👌. Nice work .

Great catch right there. You put on an absolute clinic on how to perfectly hook, fight, gaff, and secure a big halibut. Ever thing was ready and in its place, no fumbling around, beautiful first swing gaff shot right in the gut. We should all watch this video a few times. Mike

I love the light gear, it makes the fight that much funner

Yep, I nodded off for a minute or two. I can't tell you how many times I've hooked up on fish while I was sleeping. Maybe that's the secret formula.

10-4.......Gaff is always on the right side, game clip is always on the right side right next to my bait tank. extra stringer is on my left side in one of the pouches and the club is always on the right side of the bait tank in one of the rod holders.
