Okuma Metaloid 2-speed
I was at CharkBait the other day and the guy there was raving over these reels. He was saying it is one of the best reels our there. I am looking for a reel a bit larger than my current Avet SX for yellows. I caught one on a boat last year and felt that the reel was a little small for a large yellow 30# plus.
Question is anyone using them, if so what is your experience? Okuma Metaloid Thanks --John |

I haven't used one. But I have seen the hype. One thing that kinda throws me off about them is that there are already several of them being sold in classified ads on other forums.
I have a penn fathom 2 speed that I like, and if you look around you can find them writhing the same price range of the metalloid. One difference between the two is that fathom 2 speed has a thrust bearing and the metalloid does not. That bearing is a good option to have in that price range. |

On Let's Talk Hook-up on Sunday they had 2 people from Turner Outdoors and they were saying that if you buy the Metaloid and some other Okuma Reel at the Fred Hall Show Long Beach that you get a free Okuma Rod worth $ 90.00 buck and free line fill for the reel.
