Bajapalooza '06

Let's hope the weather cooperates this year, a nasty storm canceled last year's trip. MLK weekend January 14, 15 and 16th

http://www.puertosantotomas.com/

I just wanted to set the date, as a couple people have asked. Any questions, fire away and as we get closer we'll do a roll call and try to organize a caravan.

I am willing to pay for half the gas for a ride. I have access to the cheapest gas in San Diego upon departure. 8)

Andy,

Work is very thick now, but will likely ease up in January. I'm hopin' "Cookie," Jeff S., Cajun and Eagle Eye are in, as I'm hankerin' for a reunion, not to mention want a rerun of Kurt yankin' on somethin' other than - well uh, puffer fish. Thanks for instigating yet again, and hope the weather nymphs smile rather than ____ on the parade.

Mike -

You can ride down with me and my other Bud. F350 Crew Cab w/ lumber rack. If 3 yaks don't fit - then I'll tow the landscape trailer down which will hold 2 more full size kayaks + shit loads of gear w/ lockable toolboxes.

Talk to me as the trip gets closer. We'll save a seat for ya.

Cris

Are you sure you don't want to change that date? I will be in Vegas for my 30th birthday that weekend. I guess you will have to have fun without me. Good Luck!

Count me in. I'll bring some wood. I'm going to stay close to Kurt and see if I can't get his butt......I didn't just type that
Maybe the 50 year storm will not show this time.

Sean, PST is a great spot for rockfish. Calico bass too. In past years there've also been some halibut, bonito, and baracuda. I hope you head on down - the company will be great even if the fishing is blown out.

Ensenada is about 68 miles south of the border. Once you pass Ensenada, the KM will start back at zero, the town of Santo Tomas is at about KM 48 after Ensenada, (this is where you turn off on the dirt road on your right heading south, you'll see a sign to Puerto Santo Tomas 31ish KM) The dirt road (this dirt road it will eventually fork: low, and high, take the low to the left) to Puerto Santo Tomas which is about 18 miles. So I think 68 + 29.8 (Km conv.) + 18 = 115.5 miles south of the border.

Hope this helps, and is accurate,

Chris

PAL-so its pretty much rockies, calicos and sheepshead type stuff? No yellows or WSB? I would love to come, but I am hungry for a gamey fish, I have already whacked a zillion rockies this season.

Steveooo,
Here are some pics.

http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/aallen.../ph//my_photos

On the Big waters Edge homepage, under movies there are 2 that were shot in PST.

In the past some guys have grouped up in the bunkhouse, most camped. Look at the webpage.
