She's Got Balls

WEEK ENDING OCT 22

........and she nearly got mine, bit down on my pants a few inches left of center, scared the crap out of me. I decided to get the business end out of my lap.

On the gaff, I grabbed in the gills until I got a line through. Once on the deck I figured the trashing was inevitable, so I thought now, better than halfway back, out of nowhere. I don't have a billy and tried to hit it as hard as I could in the head with the back end of the gaff. I was holding the line and trying hard to keep it from going overboard with my leg holding it down. seemed like a good 2 minutes before it stopped. I was laughing hystericaly by the end. I had a long happy paddle into the wind, interupted by numerous hoots and hollering. Halibut fishing is OK.

30.8 pounds
