Connecting fishing line to Irons
General question? How do you guys connect your line to your Iron (Salas 6X), do you prefer direct tie on or attaching a leader with a swivel? And does it make any difference in the line is mono or spectra? Thanks much.

straight mono is the way to go, no swivels/leaders etc. just tie straight to the jig 30-40# mono. Spectra used as a backing is a good call too, but i usually use just straight mono on jig sticks.

I with Dan. 30-40lb mono straight to the iron. The swivel may take away the action of the jig.

Forget the swivel. Tie direct to the iron with a knot you have confidence in. I use a San Diego knot. Uni, palomar, improved clinch, double sd will all work fine too. Mike
