Huntington Harbor, 1-5-15
After a bit of a mix up over where we were meeting, Steve and I ended up at OEX. Enjoyed a vape and some coffee in Steve's van until the sun gave up some light, and heat. Launched about 7:00 and headed for the bridge.
We got to the bridge and the tide was coming in, it made for a good drift. I picked a small one on a 4" Red Bone Paddelrz w/Hot Sauce. Then a little later I got a HH PB 2+ spottie on a 4" Smokey Shad Paddelrz w/Hot Sauce. MY day was made at that point. We continued fishing and then Steve got into a bite and he let me poach his side of the bridge. A little later with the same bait beat my PB again with a 3+. I was happy. Then the tide just died. Like a switch had been thrown. And, unlike any swing I've seen before, within maybe 20min. it smoking back out. It didn't help the fishing though and I got nothing else. We made it an early day and were back on the beach about 11am. Fun as always fishing with Steve. It looks like next Monday will be the Pipe in Dana PT if anyone wants to join us.

The end of the incoming tide produced the best Fishing with 4 spotties in a half hour then stopped dead. It was only 20 minutes till the outgoing started and picked up 2 more spotties one over 2lbs. The baits for the day were Redbone and New Penny in 4" dipped in Uni Butter. As always great day fishing with Ed
