Goodbye to Friends and SoCal
For those who are not yet aware, I (along with wife and son) are leaving SoCal in a few weeks to move to Portland, OR with my last day at OEX being Monday 12/8.
I wanted to thank all of those here on BWE that made my time here as a kayak angler and also as an OEX employee so much fun. I have seen this community change a lot over the past decade and it always seems to come back around to a solid core group of great folks and I am glad to call many of you my friends. With over 13 years of kayak fishing here in SoCal and 8 years at OEX- there is a lot that I am going to miss without a doubt. I will of course still be checking in here on BWE and also will be trying to keep a much better blog of fishing adventures in this new area- all of which will go to my Facebook page (www.facebook.com/kayakcjsiebler). I hope that if anybody is up that way that you will contact me so that we can get you out for some cold water species from the kayak. Thanks again to the SoCal Kayak Fishing community for years of enjoyment. Last edited by Siebler; 12-01-2014 at 03:25 PM. |

Although I never really got a chance to meet/know you personally, I appreciate all you have done for the members (and Lurkers) on this site. Your endless work on the GB's (either for "us" or linked with others across the country), the Kayak charter trips and suggestions/advice either posted or when I've called directly will be sorely missed.
Along with the other members of this site I also wish you nothing but the best, success and happiness for you and your family. Safe travels during your move. btw: If you happen to find any rivers suitable for fishing Salmon/Steelhead from a Kayak Please post it or send me a P.M. please. I would like to expand my Kayaking experiences. And give me an excuse to visit one of the most breathtaking areas on the West Coast! Fair winds and following seas my friend. Sincerely, Robert (aka: FFY) |

Thanks for all the Well Wishes guys- means a lot to us.
Jim- I am sure we will cross paths at ICAST or something again as I am still going to be holding my position managing the Wilderness Systems team out west. Tony- Of all the customers I am glad ot have helped get started in this sport you certainly at among the top of the list. You have become a role model for others in this community, I am glad I had a part in starting your addiction. Cabo you better come up man- you know that you always have a place to stay. Maybe we can even get Ed to come on over from Utah for a get together. Not to mention the little extra legal incentive for you guys to come to Oregon now.... Robert- Salmon and Steelhead from the kayak is definitely the name of the game up there. Check NWKA for info on that- lots of guys doing it and I plan to be one of them. Watch for some write ups and articles on fishing this stuff from kayaks as one of my Pro Staff guys and I will be focusing on videos and articles for Wilderness Systems and media outlets. |

Bon Voyage!
You sold me my first and only yak, xfactor blem...pointed out the "blem" and said....your getting a discount that's stupid to pass up. Every time I load and unload I get compliments on a pristine white xfactor...the blem is less than three inches. Solid guy. Wish you and your family the best. As Forrest would say...."that's all I have to say about that" Slainte |
