Bounce bounce...
...NADA. After 6 unsuccessful trips north for halibut, I decided to try the kelp again. Got out to the spot at about 5:30. Current was strong downhill, water was kind of dark green with a brownish tint. Northwest breeze, not bad, but it made for a very fast drift with the current. Spanish macks were everywhere, easy to make. Fished around the edges and kept getting big calicos on the spanish. Nothing else really happening so I got real close to the kelp and took out the jigstick. Let's just say that the calicos needed a little metal in their diet today. Must have caught 6 or 7 BIG checkers on the Tady 45. Nothing under three pounds, all in about 45 mins. No show on the or WSB, but a lot of fun anyway.
