Dodo's on Yak in La Jolla 7/28?
Rumors are that a party boat captain saw a Kayaker with 2 dorodo landed off La Jolla yesterday. (Was at OEX while picking up big fish prize for June when told.) Same info posted on Kayak4fish site.
A buddy of mine insisted that he saw a dorodo jump near him while surfing in Del Mar on Friday. I thought he had to have mistaken a Yellowtail, but gues not. Do remember hooking some dodos off La Jolla kelp on a friend's Zodiac 10 or 12 years ago.

True it is! Right after I landed a guy came in with a nice female dodo. He said there was a bull that had followed the female in tow all the way back to the beach. He said the bull would occasionally bump the female.

It's funny that the only people confirming the Dodos are people with only a single post...hmmm...

Ive only posted once because I have a boat not a yak. My posts wouldnt pertain to inshore fishing. I saw a question and had a positive 1st hand report of it. Next time i catch one yellow or a single dodo near the beach I'll let you know.

I do have to admit that I was on the beach when the tale of the Dodo started.
When I asked who caught it and where it was, I was pointed to a yak containing a nice Halibut... but no Dodo... hmmm. When I said nice Halibut, but where is the Dodo, I was told it had already left the building... Sounds like something Elvis did once!lol Scully and Moulder have been seen interrogating suspicious yak fisherman around the launch area the last couple of days too.... to be continued.... |
