Tuesday A.M. White

I got to the launch @ 4:45 to find a bunch of cars already on the beach. Unloaded and launched quickly hoping to beat some of the mob out to the grounds. I paddled all the way out to past the hotel and made all the bait I would need (small spanish) in 3 drops. There was one other kayaker and one dive boat on the scene at 5:30 when I wet my line. I decided to just fish 1 flyline bait real close to the kelp. After drifting around for 15mins. or so, I get picked up. I let him run, set the hook, and started gaining easy line. The fish never really pulled until I had almost all my line back, I thought it was a big calico, but once it saw the boat it went straight to the bottom. The fish got wrapped up in the kelp a couple times, but nothing serious. I was stoked to see thaat big flash of white underneath the kayak! Back on shore she went 34.2lbs.

Sweet croaker. I ended up with zip. 2 lost salas, and a jacked up rod tip.
