First thresher from the yak!!
Well day started off staring at the surf for a good 15 or 20 minutes. Timing is everything and made my way out dry! Bait was no problem to make today and filled up the bait tank with some nice size Dines. Al and i started a slow paddle to a spot we thought looked promising when the clicker starts a slow ZZZ. So i take it in hand slowly start to button down so the slack is out and BAM set the hook and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ freight train pulling drag. Thought i might have saw a tail of a thresher at the water but could not call it for sure. After a little fight brought it to color and yep a pup thresher! So being my first thresher from the yak i want to play this thing SLOW so i could get it out for a pic and try a release. Get the little male on the lap remove the hook and quick pics and in the water he goes but he is not moving so i start trying to run some water through his gills and revive him  This went on for 3 minutes and Al and i decide if it is going to die might as well keep him for some steaks so back on the lap for the BLEEDING when i feel a slight shake. I put him back in the water trying to get some life in him when he starts to move his tail and off he swims. What a Thrill!! Rest of the day fishing was kind of slow. Had a couple more raked baits and one that stuck for a while and broke me off at the hook did not see what it was.
