I have a 2 year old little girl that I'm dying to take out, she loves water, fish, and fishing. Unfortunately it's all the "what ifs" out on a kayak that keep her grounded for now. How young have some of you started your kids in the kayak?

Mine too... She also loves to paint it!!! I have pictures, happy faces, polkadots, random shapes and glitter all over the front of my kayak.... If I ever sold it it would have to be stripped or I'd have to find someone that has kids and would appreciate the kid kamoflauge.

Not if but when...
So I would start in summer time in the bay, after swimming lessons! Gotta take her out though. I had the most amazing times out there with my dad. I will never forget it!

My boy went out fishing Ina canoe when he was 3and a half.
Kayak around 5. Bring a lot of other things for them to do. Their attention span is that of a dog. (+- 10 min.) Warm, dry and comfy is the key. Good luck |
