Newport for rockfish tomorrow

Anyone wanna go out? My usual suspects are all working or prepping for the show. Just hooked up my new unit and want to take it for a spin. Wanna harvest some taco meat..

What broke on yours? Before this I owned the 386ci and loved it. This is basically the same unit just 300w instead of 500w. I doubt I'll even see the difference.

Just didn't turn on one day... Supposedly it's fixed and they're sending it back tomorrow...

Wish i could go. Let us know how it was. I was checking dana's cattleboat numbers yesterday and there basically only catching rockfish so it should be pretty good. Well that bass and sand dabs. Ive never even seen a sand dab but I've caught several butts, so I'm guessing they hang out in the same areas as the rockfish?, and there supposed to be good eating too.

Usually you can find sand dabs in the sandy areas just outside a rockfish spot. Or just try fishing a random spot between 150-250 ft of water and you'll probably end up getting some.

Wow they stay allot deeper than Hali's? We used to always catch little halibut in the harbor by the bait barge, the coast guard station and the pch bridge.

Dabs are a completely different species and yes, they are typically a deep water fish.
