SD Anglers Open Bay Bass tournament
Big thanks to everyone who came out, there were 32 people in the kayak division and around 75 2 man boat teams. We had a pot luck breakfast and made some tasty breakfast burritos Big congratulations to Dave Easton on winning the Kayak division just shy of 10 pounds for his 5 fish weight.OEX sponsored the kayak division and Dave won a $250 OEX merchandise voucher. We also had a raffle exclusively for the kayak entries and Jimmy Zimmerman won that $250 gift voucher.
For the first time someone in the kayak division cracked the top 10 over all as Dave was 9th place over all. Ken Rossburg placed second in the kayak division and a very respectable 11th place in the over all. Michael Graham came in 3rd in the kayak division and 20th in the over all. Mike told me he only weighed in 4 fish as 1 died and he did not weigh the 5th even though it would have been allowed with no penalty. Thanks for representing us kayak fishermen very well yesterday. I had a good time away from the crowds just looking for the biggest spotty. I never found it but caught several short of the 14 inch minimum and brought 2 to the weigh in. Congrats to former kayak fishermen extraordinaire, Dennis and Eddie who won the $1500 first prize. Look for an OEX Mission Bay tournament COMING SOON!
