Persistence Pays Off
I guess after fishing many mornings since the WCW kicked off, something good had to happen. This morning it did. Went to the pier to get greenies, and got some small ones right by the pier, and bigger ones out deep. I paddled until I was in front of the hotel before I let a bait out. There was a big school of macks puddlin' out there, so I decided to troll around the area. Put one high and one low and after maybe 20mins. the high one goes crazy. I let her eat, set the hook and the fight was on. She fought pretty hard until I got her close. Ended up being a 40# white seabass, definitely my best kayak fish. Figured out how to get the pictures on the gallery, but I'm having trouble submitting to WCW. Adi please help. |

Tim,
big time congrats!!!! AWESOME FISH!!! OK, you got the pics up, it's all good... You uploaded majority of them in West Coast Whoppers 2007 gallery, that's probably what confused you, you probably though they were gone... I see one under your gallery, under "Fishing Tournaments" album... A pretty one... I just stuck it up in your first thread. FRONT PAGE!!!!

HELP NEEDED
About 20 of us from Nor Cal, are heading down to go on the Islander, as a tribute to a friend we recently lost. Several of us are driving down friday, and plan on get our line wet at LJ on Sat. What set ups are you using to make bait at the pier? Can you describe the method, or send a previously written link? After making bait can you send us in a general direction to catch a WSB or YT. I promise we will go home afterwards, and tell no one where we were.
Thanks Andy |

Setup
Kickin
A sabiki with size 8 hooks should get you going for bait. Some like larger, some like smaller, and I like size 8. For YT or WSB, just look for the floatilla off the point. It's sure to be there on Saturday. Good luck. |
