Island White (Cherry Beach), 11-19-13

Landwhale and I launched about 5:45 to dark cloudy skies and a northwest wind. Despite the wind it wasn't cold when we launched, it actually got colder around 8:00. after that it was just a matter of if the sun was out. If it was, it was pretty warm. But, when it hid, it got cool quick. Water was 62.7 almost everywhere the whole morning.

We made it out to the Island and for me it was a steady pick for me with 6 bass (2 legal) by about 8:30. And then it just shut off for me. Steve on the other hand struggled early on, but as my bite died his picked up. He ended the day with 5. This is a complete reverse for us. Usually he's on the fish right away and I struggle early on. As planned we were off the water by 10ish.

Baits early on were a fire tiger jig, and any color 4" FLurry got bit. Once the bite died for me I couldn't buy a bite, no matter the color or style. It was a slow day, but definitely could've been worse. And as always it was good to be on the water with Steve.
