DI,SI,Sonar Thru Hull w/putty
So I wanted to test my FishFinder Humminbird 398 DI,SI, and Sonar shooting thru the hull using Electrical Putty to secure the ducer. It works, but not with as great of detail as you could have, but it works.

How much signal degradation do you think you get? |

I'm not sure. The Sonar I see no difference from what I always get from a FF. I have the sensativity set pretty high on the DI and SI, I could go all the way to the top but haven't done that yet. Best thing about it is the installation is easy, clean, and not permanent.
I was testing this at Tidelands and anyone who's been there in the last year knows there's new reef that the city is trying to form. This was part of that structure, there were some other images that got washed out from the flash that showed more on DI, and SI so I couldn't use those. I want to go test it in La Jolla to see how it does with the kelp and such. Currently if I want to get the ducer into the water I have to either buy a new ducer for almost $200 or get one of Andy's portable boxes, which is still something I'm thinking of making or buying, but right now, this works fine for me.

I've stopped using goop to install transducers because I get better results with the Electrical putty Less mess, and easy to remove if needed. If I do anything different with it I will get one of the portable boxes that Andy has been showing off.
