I had something similar happen to me when I was stationed in South Carolina. I was had my fly rod and I was popping for largemouth in a small pond. A little 5 foot gator came out from underneath a foot bridge and chase my fish. When I tried to run a way the fish, and subsequently gator, followed me for about 30 feet. They are way faster than they let on.

the 3 main reasons why FLA is not comparable to CA overall....
heat, humidity, gators. i'll gladly pay our high St Income tax, and higher cost of living, to stay here in San Diego. .

Yup those out of state boys and talk all the crap they want there's no place like CA. Oh and don't forget about hurricanes.
