Cutting board on yak?

Does anyone have a cutting board on their kayak? I cut up a cutting board for the kitchen one of those plastic ones and bolted it down to the bait tank hatch on my x factor and its worked pretty well. Any other better thoughts?

I've been wanting to make one that would clip on to the side rail of my PA.

I keep one in my icebox that has a shallow gutter and is infused with Microban that avoids bacterial infection.

I use the smallest one for cutting bait... You can bolt them on to suit your purposes.

What about a ram mount or gear trax attachment?

You can attach a Scotty mount on your Gear Trax or other location (i.e. x-wing console if you get one).

Scotty makes a bait board if that's what your looking for.

for some reason, I saw this pic and thought.. "kayak sushi bar!!" lol.

I was thinking the same thing ful-rac said, about recessing the screws. Also, I was thinking 2 of the yakattack or geartrak mighty mounts along 1 side would work nice (recessed into the board). Mount the board to your side rail when done fishing. After cleaning your fish, just slide the carcass and guts right off the side, just like the cattleboats do!

I was thinking about a Scotty fish finder mount mounted to starboard. I’m going to cute a hole to hold a small bow to hold cut bait.

Go to home depot and get a 4 inch PVC cap
Screw it to the cutting board you can use it as a place for all the cut bait one more on the other side for the beer

I rarely use cut bait or I bring it already prepped in a small ice chest. Some times for general cutting a good pair of kitchen shears are better than a knife. I also found the some thing like seashears to be better than some thing like a dive knife or even a spiderco type knife because the shears will cut about anything and you only need one hand. Mike

If you are going to use it, and it is not in the way of important things (like landing a fish and mounting or remounting your yak) then do it. Just remember that most people start off wanting to add everything they can think of to their yak. Then they end up figuring out ways to get rid of as much clutter and weight as they can. I like the Scotty FF mount with the cutting board attached, that way it can double as a landing pad for my RC helicopter.

i have a 16"x 12" piece of acrylic that i put in my crate. i use that as a cutting board and a fish cleaning board. i also carry a squeeze bottle (an empty shampoo bottle) and use it as a wash down to pre-clean the yak while on the water.

Just picked this up at Ikea. 13.5" x 9.5" for less than a buck fiddy. And yes thick enough to recess some ss screws. Not sure how durable it is against cuts... but my bait knife lost it's edge years ago. Thought I'd pass this along.

I cut one of those up, used glue to attach it to the center hatch cover on my Raptor.
Don't use it that often, but sure appreciate it when I do.
