LJ july 11th

took jeff C (Justjeff) out for the first time today on his Xfactor. Had a hard time making squid but we managed to round up a few. Thanks to roby out there giving us some squid after we found out he had been out there since 4am the day before. we drifted up near the kelp at around 85 feet for a while and came up empty. roby gave us the rest of his squid after calling it quits and we moved further out to around 100-110 feet outside the kelp outside the corner. (sorry im not more specific i dont have coordinates) i was soaking squid on a dropper loop and got nailed. I went on quite a ride this thing was BIG. Not too sure what it was, but it was really strong. i had it at about 80 feet when my hook ripped out.

its all good, another day on the water and great experience. my next drop I ended up with a dinner rock fish. took home some squid to fri up too!
Thanks for the photo jeff, now I know im losing my hair line for sure.

I dont think it was a seal. but if they bite at 100+ feet than i guess its a possibility.

Any day on the water is a good day! Sunshine, fresh air, fish, dinner, who could ask for more?
