Best way to find local sites & beach accesses
Hello, I'm brand new to this site & Kayaking; I plan to get my first 1 or 2 kayaks within the next 3 weeks. And in prep for a great fun summer kayak fishing, I've been trying to find a few good local fish sites, but there's got to be a better way than reading a thousand posts all over the internet.
I'm closest to Oceanside Harbor, and I've heard of Barn Kelp, which seems to be 10 miles north. Does anyone have some good info/resources on finding these great local sites, and then what's the nearest beach entry to the sites??? I appreciate any info; I know this may be a lame question, but I don't know anything and I'm trying to ramp up quickly so I can join in the reindeer games. Btw, I did read the terrific thread entitled "List of Routes, which actually prompted me to ask the question. Thanks! |

One thing that I have done is to use google earth to see if there is close access to where I want to fish.

Thanks Sdspeed; GREAT resource!
Tacmik, that's exactly what I've done; and it has been useful to find the easiest path to the nearest beach; thanks for the idea. |
