I am upgrading to a Lowrance DSI unit with a GPS. To keep things simple for me whomever buys this will get the new transducer and base.

Also, if you're in the SD area I will be happy to help you install it.

The transducer on my yak is in the water. Lowrance says that a DSI transducer should be mounted in the water for the best readings. However I've heard that some people have mounted it inside and get tolerable readings. I suppose that is a matter of personal opinion.
