Where can I launch kayak in Newport bay?
I like to give the Newport bay a try.
I would appreciate very much some information on where to park and put the launch the kayak. I saw some streets, but could not read the signs clearly with the satellite photo. There is a pier and a public dock around 2119 Channel Road. Can this dock be used? If it is public, why not? Thanks for the help. |

Anywhere
There are public docks all over the harbor. It is my understanding that the beaches are all public and you are free to launch from the beach. I have launched from the beach next to the public dock closest to the jetty with no problem. I have also launched from balboa island a few times with no problem.
Just be carefull not to launch in the back bay. You can paddle there but you can't go on the land. |
