Fred Hall Del Mar Show...
I went to the show today, and had a great time.
Snapped this picture with Darin Dohi, the GM from Seeker Rods. Lollipop Guild and Seeker Rods...nothing but greatness.

Yo T,
I wasn't trying to be funny, or in any way say the the LG is better than anyone else, I just saw it as an opportunity for me to get a picture with the head of Seeker. I dig their product, their approach to business, and that's really it. It would like a computer guy taking a picture with Bill Gates. Dig I carry a backpack of lollipops around the show, kind of. It was only about half full. I saw some other industry folks i.e. Jim Sammons, Tommy Gomes, Beto Schramm from Turner's, etc. and said Hi, congrats on your success/thanks for a great product, and the support of fishing and the outdoor lifestyle. I go to the show not because I need new or more gear. Really I go to stock up on T-shirts from fishing companies, and to get new sheets. No really. There is a booth setup that sells bamboo pillows and 1800 thread count sheets. I get a new set of sheets every year. Pillows every other. Best on the market! I kid you not. The fact that parking is $10, entry $13, and wait... $9.25 for a Newcastle Brown Ale is a whole other thread. I'll see you all on the water, and maybe even give you a lollipop.

I dig the picture. Maybe you can talk Seeker (my favorite rods) into making a "Lollipop Stick".
As for your back pack full of lollipops....You ARE the president so its only fitting. Just dont get pulled over near an elementary school with it or you will have A LOT of explaining to do. |

LOL !
You guys crack me up! I could just imagine that stick with pink wrap, very, very short . Rather flimsy without much backbone.. Probably rated for 4-6 pounds. Cant wait to fish with you guys again. |

BGA,
It went down nothing like you're thinking, but at least now we all know how you think. Darin knows about the kayak community. Seen their 2013 catalog? Kevin Nakada is a Seeker guy and Team Staff guy as well. I gave him a basic run down on the LG, how it all began, how I initially met Kevin and was introduced to Seeker, and then the backpack got opened and off came the wrappers. Nothing but good dude. Now as far as a custom LG rod, that would be cool, but no need. I think though that you have given me a new fun project. See exactly who from the fishing community I can get lollipop pictures with? I'm going to try to get one with the Seal Lady from the LJ cove first. Now that would be funny, but no thanks. I've also got another idea. Let me know your thoughts. Make T-shirts that read, "Breathe if you hate the MLPA".

Somehow missed you yesterday. It wasn't all that crowded either...Got there 6:30ish and didn't have to pay for parking!!! Sat in on a chunk of Kevin's seminar. That dude is the real deal. Just giving it all up right there. Chatted with Jim Sammons in his booth...that dude right there is also the real deal. Had a good talk with Owyn...that dude is ALSO the real deal! Start off with these three for your lollipop photo ops and cred will follow.
Also wasn't difficult to leave some money with the Friends of Rollo booth.

I went yesterday also - saw all the usual suspects and dropped a couple hundred bucks on T shirts and swimbaits. Picked up a new pair of Aqua Designs SunBlock pants and convinced them that kayakers need the same thing in socks to keep our ankles from sunburning. It was nice to walk around with no crowds.
