Dana point 3-10-13

Got up late, got out to the ramp around 9 fished the harbor and the kelp right outside of the harbor drifted the beach south for halibut almost got destroyed by a wave that came out of nowhere. Bait tank switch was rusted and broke off, live bait d8dnt last much longer headed in off the water by 2ish did catch a couple bass nothing impressive only pic was of this little guy didnt know exactly what it was though. Oh DFG was on the ramp checking coolers, nothing in mine today[/IMG]

nice job on the 2 critters caught. That one looks like a some sort of rock fish, but I'm not really sure.

We'll see you out there again .

Yep brown rockfish, you can tell one by the dark spot on the top of it's gill plate. There seems to be so many of those things around as compared to years past for whatever reason... and they seem to mostly be good size too!

They're also known as bolinas up north and are highly prized.

congrats on the fish, sorry I didnt make it out. Hopefully next time we can meet up. I have had truck problems like a bitch lately. Had fuel start to pour out of the front tank today...
Im hoping I will have it fixed soon.
