Avet reel question.
I'm ordering a JX and wondering if the "MC" magnetic cast control is actually functional and is it necessary?

If you know how to cast, it's not necessary. It's also easy to add a magnet yourself. But if you have trouble casting, and don't have the time or inclination to learn, I'd suggest springing for it.

Functional, yes... I could cast without using my thumb and get minimal overrun if any. Necessary, no... save your money and educate your thumb imho.

While I consider myself a descent caster I think I'll still spend the little bit of extra dough and spring for one with the MC...Thanks guys!
